DA PAM 385 Compliant ESD Floor Mats

Mission Critical Static Control for Energetics

Made in The U.S.A.

DA PAM 385 Compliant Static Control Floor Mat

DA PAM COMPLIANT ESD FLOOR MAT FOR STATIC CONTROL

Large Photo with Descriptions

Our DA PAM 385 compliant floor mats in combination with the appropriate footwear provide optimal static control when manufacturing or working with energetics.

DA PAM requires the matting to be tested at an unusually high test voltage. This is now the only current standard requiring testing at 500 volts.

They are made from a 2 mm thick ESD vinyl with a full surface highly conductive backing that is heat fused to a wear resistant top surface.

The top surface is is easy to keep clean and powder free, resistant to most chemicals and is spark proof (non sparking per metal file strike test).

United Static Control manufacturers these mats in our Colorado location to the most popular sizes. DA PAM 385 mats must hit a very specific range of electrical conductivity when tested using a high voltage megohmmeter.

As such, we test and certify these mats using an in compliance megohmmeter at 500 volts per DA PAM 385-64, 24 July 2023 page 201, Section E-3. Electrical Testing of Conductive Floors and Floor Mats.

NOTE: These mats MUST be attached to a ground source using a resistor free cable designated by your safety coordinator. We pre punch each corner with a 1/16" hole to accommodate ground cord fasteners or a hardwired connection.

 TESTING PROCEDURE

DA PAM 385-64, 24 July 2023 page 201, Section E-3

a. Equipment requirements are as follows:

Example of Point to Point testing of DA PAM 3651) conductive surface resistance will be measured with a calibrated ohmmeter that operated on a nominal open circuit output voltage of 500 V dc with a short circuit current of 2.5 mA. Nominal internal resistance must not be less that 100,000 ohms.

2) Accessories required for these test must include two weighted electrodes. Each electrode must weigh 5 lbs. and have a flat circular contact area of 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The contact surface must be comprised of aluminum or tin foil .0005 inches to .001 inches thick with a backing layer of rubber 1/4 inch thick. The rubber backing will have a hardness rating of between 40 and 60 based on measurement with a Shore Type A Durometer.

b. Testing procedure (two-electrode).

(1) Obtain resistance readings from five different locations on the conductive surface.

(2) When conducting this test, two electrodes are placed 3 feet apart at each of the 5 test points.

(3) Record the readings and compute the average of the 5 locations.

(4) The average resistance must be more than 25,000 ohms and less than 1,000,000 ohms.

(5) No individual reading must be less than 10,000 ohms or more than 5,000,000 ohms.

Note. When obtaining resistance measurements, it is recommended that approximately 5 seconds be allowed for meter stabilization before recording the reading.

c. Test procedures (one electrode to ground).

(1) Obtain five resistance readings to the ground. For this test, only one electrode is placed at each test location on the conductive surface. The meter leads are connected to the electrode and to the ground point.

(2) The average of the five values must be greater than 25,000 ohms, with no individual reading less than 10,000 ohms nor more than 1,000,000 ohms.
