ESD Mat Ground Fasteners, Snaps, Tooling and Hardware

In order to operate effectively all anti static and ESD floor and table top matting must be attached to a reliable earth ground connection. UltraStrong universal mat to ground cord fasteners are an integral component - allowing easy placement (anywhere on the mat) and providing a female socket or male stud for the subsequent attachment of ESD mat ground cords. To achieve reliable grounding of your anti static mat the kits must be attached securely to your mat (they must not be loose). Attach the snap kit that best suits your needs. Attach the appropriate ground cord (supplied separately) to your snap and attach the ground cord to a reliable ground in your building. Each mat requires attachment to a common ground point. Mats should not be daisy chained. A center screw of an AC face plate cover is an ANSI ESD approved ground point. Table top mats, bench mats and ESD control accessories such as wrist straps should be attached to a common point ground (all items for each bench should be grounded to the same reliable ground point).

UltraStrong ground post and snap kits are designed for use with our anvil and setting tool. Use of this type of assembly is slightly more complicated than using our screw type fasteners but eliminates screws. Use of these fasteners allows the user to securely attach a standard 3/8" grounding lug on virtually any ESD matting material (for subsequent attachment of a ground cord to the fastener). Simply mark the mat where you wish to install the snap. Puncture a hole in mat with our revolving punch pliers, select a post and insert the post thru hole. Place the appropriate snap on the top side of mat and tap the post lightly with our post setting hardware (revolving the punch slightly as you tap places a nice rolled radius on the post top for permanent compression). The post are supplied in 2 lengths. 1/4" and 3/8' (or to be exact .442 and .292 of an inch). Economical, efficient, secure, easy to use and fully compliant to latest ANSI ESD and MIL standards!

Anvil and Setting Tool Product TV1267 (Note: The snaps and post shown below are sold separately)

This snap set anvil and punch tool is used to provide consistent tension of the mat between the snap hardware. Unlike some punches that tear the top of the post this unit (when used properly) places a smooth rolled radius on post top. A rolled radius is much stronger than a torn jagged radius. The tool is designed for easy rotation while lightly tapping the punch. The anvil is designed to accommodate either a standard post (on one side) or a smooth button type post (on the other).
