Why Heat Weld ESD
Tiles
Seam
Free ESD Flooring for Ultimate Cleanliness and Easy Maintenance
Heat
welded ESD floors are impervious to water and
chemicals and are highly recommended for cleanliness
in all classes of clean room operations and hospital
operating theaters.
In addition heat
welded seams provide advanced dimensional stability, perfect
with heavy rolling loads and for use with air jacks. Color
selection can be close to the color of the esd flooring tiles or
sheet goods or selected in an off color (blue rod on white ESD
tiles for example) providing a high tech grid work that looks
OUTSTANDING
Heat welding ESD tiles and sheet vinyl eliminates dirt and dust
that easily collects in seams. With no place to hide, dirt and
dust are easy to remove. A heat welded esd tile
floor that is merely swept looks like a non heat welded floor
that has recently been damp mopped!
Process Overview: To heat weld Titanium or one of our
other esd tile selections a groove is cut where the seams meet.
A specialty hot air gun and nozzle are used to heat the welding
rod and flooring. The heat weld technician slowly draws the heat
weld equipment down the length of the groove filling it with a
bead of molten vinyl while melting the adjacent groove that has
been placed in the flooring. The bead is allowed to cool (for
about 15 minutes). A specialty knife or vinyl planer is used to
rough cut the top of the bead cutting it down to about .010 from
the top surface of the flooring. A second finish cut is
completed (normally next day) allowing the bead to be cut to the
same height as the flooring.
Availability: Titanium heat weld rod is available in spools and
in colors designed to compliment the color of the Titanium
Flooring. Titanium heat weld rod is a solid color (it doesn't
contain the mottling texture or colors of the flooring).
Container Size: Spools, .167 (4.2 mm) thick X 328 Linear Feet in
